I have an Acer A315-51-34V8 laptop and want to upgrade the storage and memory. It currently has a 128GB SSD I am planning to leave that there and use the upgrade bay for the secondary drive. I am not sure what would be the best way to upgrade the storage (I'm open to both SSD and HDD) given the laptop's design. I cannot see any cables so not sure if I go down the HDD route will I need to buy cables separately or is it easier to go down the SSD route (that will need some cables as well I assume)?

This is how the storage bay looks like:

Regarding the RAM, it currently has 4 GB I am not sure if it is worth upgrading it to 8 GB (laptop is mainly used for web browsing and media storage) also not sure whether it supports dual channel...

Any help is appreciated, thanks.

For secondary drive https://community.acer.com/en/discu...dd-a-second-hard-drive-on-a-acer-a315-51-533u

I would get an SSD unless you need a lot of space and are limited with budget. Or better yet, replace the main disk with something more usable.

Getting another 4gb of RAM will help with speed when you have a few things running, but your system looks to have a single RAM slot so you would need to replace what you have instead of being able to add it.

Easiest thing is to go to Crucial.com and plug in your laptop model, get the RAM that comes up there.
