acer apire 5552 power button blinks charger plugged

Dear all,
My acer laptop 's power button and the two other small indicator leds start blinking in 1-sec interval whenever i plug in my charger while i'm using and it doesn't charge but when i turn it off and plug in my charger it starts charging please help!

It looks like there is some problem with the battery.

Can you swap the battery of your laptop with the one that any of your friends' laptop has?

If your friend's laptop shows the same issue and yours doesn't after swapping the battery, you may need to buy a new battery for your computer.
