acer aspire 5920. vista no sound, audio

I have an acer aspire 5920. It is running vista (i can upgrade to 7) however, there is no sound! I have gone to the control panel and reset everything to its default. The computer shows that everything is working fine; however, still no sound. Any ideas?

It's probably the audio driver.
