Acer Aspire V5-131-2840 Blue Power LED Blinks

My wife's Acer Aspire V5-131-2840 will not start up.

I press the power button and the power LED blinks blue 5 times, and then remains off.

Nothing else happens.

It is 15 months old, and just out of warranty.

That seems to match my experiences with Acer, the blinking blue light should indicate that the laptop is in sleep or hibernation mode, I'll suggest attempting a reset here.
With the battery removed and the power adapter unplugged, press and hold the power button for ~30 seconds. Put battery back in, plug in adapter and try again, see where you get
