A person who I know asked if I could get him a blu-ray burner for his Pavilion DV6 laptop. He claims that the exact model is not printed anywhere which I don't think is true since it usualy is written on a sticker on the bottom of the machine.
However, he said that the laptop has AMD A8-3530MX APU and because he most likely bought it from Finland I think it is DV6-6C21eo.
I've been looking for a compatible drive, I know that if the drive has correct connetor (SATA in this case) and is correct size (that it fits) it should fit, the only thing being the bezel compatibility.
What wonders me is the fact that HP claims that atleast for "their" drive the laptop must have Intel processor. I wonder is there any technical reason or have they just decided to divide it so that machines with AMD CPU were not offered with Blu-Ray burner?
And of course, in addition of this it is hard to determine if the front bezel can be swapped since I haven't even seen the machine (and I cannot, too much distance).
Panasonic UJ-240 has been mentioned as compatible replacement, for Intel machines atleast.
