Adobe audition 1.5 and 3.0 recording sync

Hey everybody... I hope this is an easy question.

So, I just updated my laptop (Toshiba E205-1904S). Core i5, 4 gig ram, windows 7. Anyway, I updated my software as well, and went from Adobe Audition 1.5 to 3. Was doing some basic recording to see what the built in mic was like, and I noticed that my two tracks weren't syncing up, and the lag would stretch further the longer I tried to record. Tried plugging in a mic into the mic jack... same issue... So, I reinstalled Audition 1.5... same thing!!!

Can somebody tell me what I don't know? I am sure this is an easy fix, but I can't seem to figure it out.

Hi -

Did you ever find a solution for this? It just started happening to me out of nowhere. I sing along to a 5 minutes track, play it back, the singing track I just recorded is 4:58!

Called sound card mfg, they said it was the Audition software.

Going to dry uninstall/reinstall
