Adobe Flash?

i have computers running windows xp sp3 ,and windows 7 sp1 both have the latest flash player 11 . flash player crashes no matter what browser or os i am on. after some research i found that disabling hardware acceleration solves the crashes. does everyone have this or is it only me? is it gpu specific?
windows xp pc has xfx hd 4650 and windows 7 pc has hd 6850...
