Hi,

Found a good deal on an HP Spectre X360 which looks great (i5-5200u, 256GB SSD), but it only has 4GB of RAM.
The laptop is for college, mainly for internet, word, youtube - stuff like that, but needs to last about 4 years.
Buying the Spectre with 8GB means a steep jump money wise.

Will 4GB cut it or will it be sluggish?

Thanks,
Tom :)

4gb is fine, you'll only run into a problem if you are like my friend and you constantly keep 30 tabs open on chrome at once that all go to youtube. Also you may be able to upgrade the RAM on your own to more. Check the specs to see.

In a normal laptop I would say get the 4gb and upgrade to 8 when you need it.

In the case of ultrabooks the memory is almost often soldered directly to the board so you are stuck with what you got.

If you are wanting to have this for 4 years then the cost of the memory upgrade will be worth it.
