Question Alienware 15 r1

I have an alienware 15 R1, and I bought a used motherboard for it quite a bit of time ago. It worked fine for a few days and then when I shut it off it just started power looping with a black screen. It sat for a few months after that and I turned it on recently and put a new hard drive in it and it worked fine until I turned it off again last night and now it is just doing the power looping again. Is there any way to fix this or should I just give in and buy a Dell refurbished motherboard?
