All SATA Drives Missing in Bios

Hello,

I have a Dell XPS 15 l521x laptop and am in quite a conundrum. Just recently this week I started getting a "boot device not found" error on startup every single time I booted it up, and when I went inside the bios the hard drive, msata ssd, and also the cd drive disappeared from the bios! I took out the hard drive and put it it my desktop, and it detected it just fine and was able to access the data on it. I'm thinking it might be failed motherboard, but anm really hoping it isn't.

Any help or suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

sounds like your sata controller took a dive, so yes the motherboard is shot.

Dang. That's what I should, was just hoping it was something else.

Is there anything else that could cause something like this?
