So, I'm looking at getting a new laptop for photo editing, writing, maybe a little gaming.. Just saw this HP at Best Buy.. http://www.bestbuy.com/site/HP+-+ENVY+15.6%26%2334%3B+Laptop+-+6GB+Memory+-+750GB+Hard+Drive+-+Natural+Silver/6819205.p?id=1218808163771&skuId=6819205

I have to go through Best Buy because I have around $300 in gift cards there. This seems like a deal for $629 (It was $599 last week).. It has the AMD A10-4600M and 7660G which IIRC ranks up there with some of the Nvidia 6 series GPUs.

Games will probably be DayZ, WarZ, LOL, Skyrim, Xcom, etc..

Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, maybe some Solidworks.

Which Intel does this compare too? I know AMD is claiming it compares with the i7.. but let's get real.. It doesn't. I've poured over the benchmarks for it and it seems to be somewhere in the mix of i5s.

Just looking for some expert opinions.

Thanks everyone.

If you could find one with an i5 and a discrete video card it would be a much better buy. I was just on the best buy website, unfortunately they don't have a filter to search for video cards.

Yeah. It's really frustrating to search through.. Even a discrete card like the Nvidia 610M??

I have to buy it at BestBuy or at BestBuy.com.. I just have too much $$ towards something there.
