Hi all.

I have a pair of speakers from a Sony MHC-EC69i and i need something to hook them up to. Would a mini-amp do the trick, or do i need a full receiver? My speakers are 6 ohms. Do i need to be looking for a certain kind of amp/receiver?

Solution
Most amps will handle those speakers without any problems. The original Sony was rated at 50 watts x 2 into 6 ohms so about the same amount of power should be fine. You don't need a receiver unless you want the radio in it. A miniamp will work fine. A used stereo receiver or integraded amp would probably sound better. and if it had 20-30 watts x 2 would be enough power.
