Amplifier Sony STR-Dh550 pops when turning on or off

As the title says I get some kind of a pop from the amplifier when i turn it on or off. When turning it on, it starts, and after like 5 seconds it pops. I heard something about it being a relay, but should these newer model amplifiers make this noise? It's actually quite loud.

Anyone got any ideas? Is this normal?

A receiver like that one should not make a popping noise. If it does it with no wires other than the speaker wire connected it is inside the receiver. If it doesn't happen then connect each source one at a time and try it. There may be some DC coming out of one source that is causing it.

Actually it's more like a click, I've read something about it being a safety thing for the speakers or something. I've tried disconnecting everything from it and still the same.
