Anonymous@gmail.com?

Could it be?

That is the only entity that will benefit from the crashing of Facebook. Google+

Besides, I don't think they will succeed for more than 15 minutes, particularly since Facebook knows they are a target...

Also, I fail to understand how FB makes money. There're no ads (or is it my Adblock's fault? xD) and it's free. Yet it is valued in millions of dollars... shows where money concentrate in this pitiful world - in virtual, non-existent, delusional content. Not even digital movies or music, but simply a website that allows people to waste time in front of the screen instead of visiting their friends IRL.

well how did Google make money before they branched out into other technology? one word advertising

Won't hurt my feelings if the damned thing goes down and never sees the light of day again. Hey Anonymous, if you pull this off, can you please try to hack into a few cable/satellite companies and take a few reality shows out, too?

I thought they were going after NewsCorps... I guess they'll get to Facebook when they are done...

Easiest way to not have your data on Facebook... is to not be on Facebook.

Can't say I give a shit about Facebook. But I'm not sure what "destroy" really means here...? If their claims are true, and I have no evidence either way, empirically proving what they state seems to make the most impactful statement.

Does FB's Terms of Service allow for that kind of selling of information? Than I guess it's the users' fault for agreeing. I don't visit their site nor plan to. If their TOS does not allow it, then it is the duty for someone to prove they are breaking the agreement, and it's our duty to support it.

I don't support Anonymous nor fight against them. I don't have enough information about them nor their plans. I support privacy and the rights of individuals.

Inform yourselves. Make your choices in life yours. And never let fear dictate how you act or think.

[citation][nom]amk-aka-phantom[/nom]This is OLD news. I just read somewhere else that Anonymous said they are NOT planning to attack FB and that such claims might have been voiced by some Anonymous members and then mistakenly tied to the whole group. In case they DO take down FB... maybe then I'll stop facepalming as some of my friends will poke or message me instead of coming over to my house. Admit it, Facebook doesn't hold any real value. That said, why wait till November? To build up anticipation? Lol, they sound like they just want to draw attention instead of accomplishing something...Also, I fail to understand how FB makes money. Not even digital movies or music, but simply a website that allows people to waste time in front of the screen instead of visiting their friends IRL.If FB gets pwnd, it will be epic - from one side - since it's a multi-million-user service, and its fall will make a LOT of people unhappy (for no reason, lol). From the other side, this is too far and I don't see the point of taking it down... if the people want to "get raped and delusioned" by FB, then it's their choice, as dumb as it is, and it's not up to some hacker to decide for them.[/citation]
Yep it's very old news and AnonyOp denied that there are any plans to take down FB.
FB does have high level of usability, I can stay in contact with my relatives and friends etc that live half way around the globe from me. Not to talk, but to see pictures of them and such.
Yep they earn money from adverts and from games. In all FB games you have micro transactions, FB takes part of each and every of them.
Don't forget that a lot of people will get pissed off in companies that make FB games when they start getting "laid off" as it's politically correct to say these days.

I just hope Anon doesn't release the info publicly. Anyway, i think i'll just post this link as my status update. Just so all the data miners know what about to (hopefully) hit them.

Reminds me of a saying in "The Karate Kid" from a wise martial artist... "Best defense, not be there"

Who are these people hiding behind masks?

According to good ol’ reliable Wikipedia: Anonymous (used as a mass noun) is a group initiating active civil disobedience and spread through the Internet while staying hidden, originating in 2003 on the imageboard 4chan, representing the concept of many online community users simultaneously existing as an anarchic, digitized global brain. It is also generally considered to be a blanket term for members of certain Internet subcultures, a way to refer to the actions of people in an environment where their actual identities are not known.
