Any difference between VRAM?

Dear members of the forum,
I was simply wondering if there would be any difference in frame rates or gaming performance between a gtx 970m with 3 big VRAM and one with 6 gig VRAM. The three gig would've saved me around $150.

The VRAM is important if you are either:
1) Playing latest / upcoming games
2) Having more than 1x 1080p monitor.

1- At the moment, with latest games at this stage, 3GB GDDR5 VRAM is recommended and more and more games we see are starting to push this barrier. Some newer games that will be out soon are expected to be able to use even up to 4gb at 1080p. Lowering the quality will reduce VRAM usage. If you plan on playing latest games at 1080p on high / ultra settings, 3GB is a good starting point.

2- The higher the resolution of the display, the more VRAM is needed to be able to have a smooth experience. If you go beyond maybe 1440p , and are playing latest games at ultra, you will start to need that 6GB VRAM.

Therefore it all depends on what your usage and scenario is .
