Anyway to unlock a laptop if I bought it used and its got a lock on it

I bought a used laptop and there's a password how do I get past the password bought it at a yard sale didn't realize it's got a password HD laptop HP anybody know how to get past the password

No one can help you bypass a password. There is no way to verify that you are a lawful owner of the laptop.

kanewolf says it all. The only ways are to provide proof of ownership to a professional or, in your case, buy a legitimate copy of a Windows system and install from scratch.
