If anything generates sufficient hype and isn't a _bad_ product, it can do well on that alone. Apple has brand force, supreme hype and a loyal fanbase.

Honestly, I'd envy Apple if I were in a tech company. Still, can't stand Apple. Never buying an iPod, iPhone, Mac or iPad. I'm sticking with more open technologies.

Bugs me so much when apple uses the terms "Revolutionary" and "Magical". Such a joke.

Apple "polishes" a product pretty well. I gave my 14 year old non-technical daughter an iPod touch, and "no questions". Everything "works" and there are no "technical prompts". I also gave that same daughter a laptop with Windows 7 on it. Nothing but questions. What does this mean? Should I install this? It is showing this window asking this? Most this stuff is obvious to me, but I can definitely see where Apple is doing something that others choose not to. I only hope Android gets to this point soon. All the reviews I have read still seem to sway in the iPhone direction though.

WoW has 11.5 million subscribers, by way of comparison.

Excuse me if I don't get all worked up about a meager million iPads.

WoW took 5 years to get that many subscribers. The ipad hit 10% of that in 30 days. It is a lot, no doubt, but definitely not magical.

How long has iPad been out? 1 month
How long has WoW been out? Nov 23, 2004
Just for comaparison, how long has iPhone been out? (since q4 2007)

I have an iPhone. I depend on it. It is easy to use.

I still want something new. Better processor. Multitasking, etc. I also don't like evil Apple and want to see them de-throned. Go competitors.

Manny of you need to get the logo out of your mind, you are to obsessed with it to evaluate the situation with some equity.

Manny people buy things this way and it means nothing, Apple or not, and if you want to attribute all of them to Apple there are 9 to 1 more buyers not paying for an Apple product if not more. This is not a smart argument. No one is smart or a compulsive buyer or person because they buy Apple products or not.

Apple has something with their latest products. They mastered a way to create some value for a mass of people, even if their products are not for everybody and the best hardware out there and there are a lot of them buying in a compulsive manner. But manny compulsive buyers buy more none Apple products with others logo in it.

Also no one can say a product is great because it sells very well but you cannot dismiss a product or disqualify it because it wont fit within your needs because the true is that most of the products in the market today are not within everybody's needs. This is just one device in a limited format but it does a job that no other product today can offer. Is limited, is basically closed but it is useful in different environments and is an attractive user friendly design.

I am going to wait to the end of this year and maybe more but if nothing else appears I may buy one. I said before I prefer a closed commercial gadget than jet another underpowered PC device.

You may hate them but Apple is laughing all the way to the bank. People put up with consoles in order to be able to just push a button and play games on a couch... and some of you thought the iPad wasn't going to make it?

I read an article on ESPN about some NBA player who was a total tech-idiot. He didn't know how to use most technology, could make calls with his phone, and not much else. But the guy owns an MacBookc, iPhone, iPod, and iPad, doesn't know how to use any of them. He just bought them because he had the money, and if someone asked him if he owned one, he could say yes.

This is the kind of people who buy Apple products, just because they can say they own it. What a sad state of affairs for our society. Apple may not care what people do after the hand over their money, but as a society, we should rise up and fight against these kinds of people.

Apple products and the people who buy them are why the rest of the world hates America soooo much. We spend hundreds and thousand of dollars on a piece of technology we don't even know how to use, while millions starve to death around the world. Such arrogance, such stupidity, it must be stopped at all costs!!!

I meant the iPod that is like the iPhone. My daughter doesn't even listen to music with it. Uses the apps: Navigon GPS app (when her and my wife go off somewhere), Games (such as Sims 30, and alot of other apps and such. Also mail and webbrowser.
