(ASK) buying a HP laptop/notebook

I'm planning to buy a HP multimedia/entertainment laptop, choices are hp envy m4 and hp pavillion dv4.

I'll be using it for gaming and multimedia purposes. My question is, is HP a good brand? Is it reliable? This will be my first time buying HP product. My previous laptops were ASUS and TOSHIBA, both were great and long lasted. I heard that HP has the worse cooling fan, is it true? Are they improving or getting worse?

I'm only buying 14 inch laptop since I'm studying abroad so bigger laptop will be annoying 😛

Well HP products have their pros and cons and probably the most problems that HP users have to deal it is overheating and poor battery. I have to deal with these issues before but that was the older generation HP laptops. I have not land my hands on the newer HP laptops.

If you're considering gaming, then these choices are better than the choices you have above:

HP Envy 6-1113TX Sleekbook

_*Bonus_MS_Office_Home_and_Student_2010]HP Envy DV6-7215TX

Both laptops are good for gaming and entertainment. Personally I would go for Envy 6 because for a better design and being lightweight.

Do you think those recent laptops from HP would be far better than previous one?
I mean the problems in battery and fan

Well with the reviews on the newer generation HP Elitebooks, Probooks and Envy, the problems about battery isn't that prominent already but the heating problems are still there which I think is just normal for every laptop when used continuously.
