Hi all,
I created a thread a few weeks back about potential first camera for a decent price range. I ended up ignoring everything and grabbing a Canon 100D with a 18-55mm STM camera lens. A friend recommended it and it was slap bang in my price range so I just went with it.
I'm absolutely loving it and I'm super interested in focusing on landscape photography and also night-time astrophotography. Taking landscape photos, milky way shots (wide angle jobs) and things like that.
Anyway with my Canon 100D I've seen a lot of people online recommend a Rokinon 14mm f2.8 MF lens which is around £450 in the UK. However my problem is it's hard to find here without shipping from overseas which slaps a hefty shipping cost on top. I was wondering if there are any alternatives that are widely available in the UK that do the same job but could be around £300 price mark instead? I know Astrophotography is an expensive hobby and a wide angle lenses are quite expensive but as I'm a complete beginner I would welcome any help/advice I can get on the matter. I've taken some cool pictures so far and my camera has impressed me in low light conditions with it's standard lens, but I just want to invest in a specialised lens for the future.
Any help?!
Thank you all in advance!
EDIT: Ok after looking a little more online it seems the Samyang 14mm f2.8 lens is the UK equivalent of the Rokinon. Exactly the same apart from branding. So if I'm reading correctly I just need to purchase the Samyang 14mm f2.8 lens?
