Asus charging problem

Hello,

I have an Asus notebook (Q200E). I didn't use that much bcoz I had to travel and I forgot to take it with me. at first it was working and charging normally but now it doesn't work without the charger. When the charger is on, the orange light gets on indicating it's charging and after a while it starts flashing with the same color. I tried charging it when it's shut down but nothing happened!
Is it a problem with the battery.
What should I do? Plz help.

Sounds like a battery issue to me. I had a similar issue n my Asus laptop and the battery was the problem. How old is the laptop?
