Hi, have followed steps 1-5 but when i press F9 it brings up blue box ''Load optimized defaults''

((1/ Select the Boot menu in the Aptio setup utility, select 'Launch CSM' and change to enable
2/ Select the Security menu n the Aptio setup utility, select 'secure Boot Control' and change to disable
3/ Select Save & Exit and press 'yes'
4/ Hold down the power button until the unit switches power off completely
5/ Switch back on and continually press the F9 button for about ten seconds; this should now allow the unit to boot up into the Windows Recovery menu))

Please Help 🙁

Hi,

Please do try these troubleshooting steps that may help.
- Start by doing a hard reboot, remove the battery and unplug the AC adapter then press and hold the power button for 20 seconds then try booting it up again.
- If it will still get stuck on BIOS, shut down the laptop again then remove the HDD off.
- Boot up the laptop without the HDD and if it will get pass the BIOS screen and will load into a black screen with an error that means the problem is the HDD.
- Put the HDD back in and see if the laptop will get pass the Aptio screen.
- But if the laptop will still get stuck on the Aptio Setup screen without the HDD that means the problem is the motherboard.
- Do also try settings BIOS to default by pressing F9.
- Do contact ASUS for a repair specially if the laptop is still under the factory.

Hi,

thankyou for the reply.

Unscrewed the back but do not want to unscrew anything inside as i am not confident to do so. I have recently upgraded to Windowns 10 and think this may be part of the issue. is there any simpler steps we can try before the Labotomy.

The laptop is also making a noise like a stuck disc. is there anyway i can load an operating system onto another hardrive to see if this solves the problem?
