Solved! Asus FX705 trackpad lagging. Badly.

The laptop is brand new (6 weeks old) and the issue only just started a week ago roughly. I think it may have been after a windows 10 update.

Basically the trackpad becomes entirely unresponsive for maybe 10-30 seconds. After that the cursor will quickly perform all the movements from when it was frozen. All normal trackpad shortcuts are working when it’s not lagging and when it does work it will often work for an hour for no issue. Restarting seems to fix the issue for a short while at least.

I have made sure all drivers are up to date but not sure what else to try.

Other than the update, were there any other changes? Installed any programs? Downloaded anything? If so, try uninstalling the item(s), reboot (power the laptop off and back on) and see if that resolves it. If not, you might want to try going into "System Restore" and restore it to a date prior to the update and see if that resolves the problem.
