Hey all,
I am looking at purchasing a new laptop soon and these two seemed to stand out.
The Sager NP8130 (Intel® Core™ i7-2820QM) and the ASUS G53JW-SSD (Intel® Core™ i7-840QM), both running 8gb DDR3 with nVidia GTX 460M. The Sager will run 160GB Intel X25-M SATA SSD while the ASUS has the OCZ Vertex 2 120GB SATA II Sandforce SSD. The Sager costs around $2006 while the ASUS is around $2183.
All other things being equal I was wondering if one stands out or if they are both roughly similar? Does the extra $177 for the ASUS buy anything more than a brand name?

Both are good gaming systems, but the specs on the Sager are a bit better. I say go for the Sager if the warranty terms are ok. The Asus should have a 2 year global warranty, plus one accidental damage incident. If the Sager can match or beat that, go Sager all the way.

I don't believe that Accidental is covered in the Sager warranty. At least it wasn't for mine a few years ago. However, money saved on the Sager could go towards an extended warranty. I'm a fan of Sager, so my vote is for them.
