Asus G53JW-A1 RAM Support

Greetings,

I am going to be purchasing an Asus G53 series laptop soon, and would like to know from anyone who already owns the G53JW-A1 whether the system actually does support 16GB of RAM. I have read several spec sheets for this unit and they seem to be conflicting with each other. For example, the specs at NCIX say that the unit only supports 8GB of ram, whereas the specs at Newegg say it supports 16GB.

For anyone that actually owns one of these and has the laptop in hand, can you confirm how much RAM this thing actually can handle?

Found it. For anyone else reading this thread, it seems the i7 based models can accept 16GB, whereas the i5 based models will only take 8GB.
