Hey guys i am thinking about buying the Asus G550JK. The specs are good, but i wish the gpu was an 860m not an 850m. I am wondering if anyone has any experience with this machine, and want to know how the fan noise was like. Also, how is the build quality and is it worth $1100?Thank You!

Specs:

Intel Core i7-4710HQ 2.5 Ghz
8 GB DDR3
750 GB 7200 rpm Hard Drive
15.6-Inch Screen
Windows 8.1
Nividia GeForce GTX 850m Graphics

Solution
For quality, the G550JK is better, and it IS worth the money. It doesn't have the horrible trackpad like the Y50, and most importantly, the G550JK has IPS display, wheras the Y50 has a low-quality TN display many people complained about, which has bad viewing angles and sub-par color reproduction. Only the 4K version has IPS display, but is only 48Hz refresh rate, can have scaling issues and is more expensive.

@Joeteoh99: Not every notebook, and a cooler pad is not a requirement, rather an aid for some bad-cooled laptops. I have an Asus laptop with only 1 exhaust on one side, and it doesn't throttle the GPU, and a cooler pad wouldn't help on side-exhaust laptop anyway.
No it is not worth the money. The Lenovo Y50 has similar specs, but instead of the GTX 850M it is GTX 860M. Try googling the Lenovo Y50 or the MSI GE70. Don't forget if you buy a laptop, you will need a laptop cooler.

I know about the Y50, but the build quality is okay, and this laptop has good cooling, but mainly because if the lower end gpu. I really only wanted to know about the build quality.

Why not get the Asus G551/GL551? Its almost exactly the same as the G550jk, but it comes with GTX860m. It's not technically released yet, but should be coming out by the end of the month, if you can wait.

The price should also be close to $1100.

The fan for the laptop is on the left side only, meaning that one area will be smoking hot, especially with an 860m. Where as the g550jk has better cooling.
