Asus laptop battery problem and won't stay on

Hi, so I have an x455l asus and I recently lost my power cable so I tried a power cable that was a little bit under the voltage rating and it did not charge. After finding my power cable I plugged it in to see that it will not stay on anymore. The charging light will turn on but it will not stay on long enough to get through bios. I have tryed taking the battery out and seeing of it can run off of ac power and that will not work. I'm affraed that I have busted the system with the low voltage cable. Any suggestions?

Low voltage shouldn't cause any damage.

It's going over voltage that burns your device.

Do you have another power adaptor you can try?

The current one is probably bad.

I think that low voltage can also cause damage but that could be the problem but no I don't have one that is avilable

Low voltage doesn't damage electronic appliances.

You should get another power adaptor and see if that fixes the issue.

Is there a way we're you can cheak if the power cable is working? The computer is now not turning on nor is it showing the charging light

Easiest way is with a multi-meter.

Either purchase a new power adaptor or borrow one to test the laptop.

OK so I tested out another compatable charger and it did not charge so it must be the battery. I already bought the new battery online and I will have to update this when I get the new battery. Thanks for everything
