Asus laptop's blinking from desktop to blue screen

ASUS Laptop... blinking back and forth from desktop to blue screen. It is continuous. It will boot up and you can see the desktop and all the icon then it will blink to a blue screen and in about 2 sec back to normal. Does this over and over. Please help! Will my data be lost? Iv no whr to bk up.

your data should be alright. just copy your documents, pictures & music folders plus what other specific folders or files you might want to save. try using an external monitor to see if same thing happens on it because if it does then it is the onboard video that is causing the problem & if it doesn't then the screen needs to be replaced.

The prob is it wont stay still long enough to do anything if i was to pop a hdmi to my tv looks the same i thought could it be a virus or sumthin as i cant even get a chance to go on the settings to restore to a prev wrkin time

have you tried safemode to see if still does it or not?

I tried goin into it wont let me as it flashes too quick so i tried f8 still nothing that button just didnt do anything
