Which one would you recommend?

The difference seems to be the cooling, but even the N551JK's CPU goes over 90 degrees when pushed hard, but on the other hand it stays almost 10 degrees cooler on the outside. The other thing is that N550JK exhales the air behind the screen and the N551JK on the lateral? Will N550JK exhaust affect the screen?

PS: I intend to deactivate the CPU's boost, so it would stay at lower temperatures if needed.

Which one to pick? Will N550JK create problems?

Sorry about that (rookie's mistake)...
Asus N550JK-CN393D
Asus N551JK-CN103D

They have mostly similar configurations... I'm more interested in the cooling part, as that is the main difference

If you're not gonna use the Turbo and if you're not gonna be stressing it too hard then either is fine. I personally like the cooling to go through the back behind the screen because being a laptop sometimes I'll have my hands near the side.

As for whether or not having the vent on the back affects the laptop screen. It doesn't, I have the macbook and an HP Envy and both of them have their vents near the screen area and never had an issue.

That was what I hoped for. They both get their CPU over 90 degrees when pushed hard, but the N551JK stays like 10 degrees cooler on the outside and a couple on the inside, so I don't think I should be too stressed about N550JK's cooling.

I think I will not use Turbo Boost for none of them as I want my temps stay down in order to protect the CPU and make the laptop last for couple of years.

Unless you're running your laptop under heavy load for long periods of time, it shouldn't really get up that high for temperatures. if you're doing basic work, internet stuffs, movies/music, stuff like that wouldn't really tax the CPU that much, your CPU's fan shouldn't even really kick up that much.

But yeah, i believe you can disable turbo in the BIOS of your computer and that should reduce some of your concerns about the heat issues.
