Asus T100 keyboard NOT working

The physical keyboard of my Asus transformer netbook does not work. It only works for my password after turning my laptop on but when
I open Chrome or other softwares that i need to type in some words, it wont work. I can use its mouse but not the keys. I am now using the keyboard on its tab. I already had my laptop reformatted and also resetting it to its Factory settings but nothing has changed. One weird thing that i see is that after turning my laptop on, the = symbol is continuously being typed on my password box but i'm not typing anything yet. My laptop is just 1yr and 8 mos old only and I haven't dropped it ever since. I was so careful with it so i don't think i damaged it or something.

Hi,

Could be a sticky key issue, check the (=) symbol and see if it's stuck. You can take off each key of your keyboard in your case take the = symbol and see if it will make any difference. Another test you can run is by hooking up an external keyboard and see if the same problem persist with it because if not it should be the built in keyboard problem not a software problem.

It's filter keys. Check your system tray for the stopwatch symbol, double click it to go to the settings, and turn it off. I'm sure you've figured this out, but for those who Google this and find this thread, this should save you the minute of panic.

When docked, particular keys ([,],p,n) are continuously being typed in the search box or in an open word document. Others keys except [,],p,n are not working when pressed for typing. What else should be done? Help!

That sounds like a physical damage issue. The keyboard is VERY sensitive to any sort of debris, especially liquid. I've ruined two keyboards by getting small droplets of moisture under the keys. They are basically impossible to clean and make them not stick, and the moisture immediately gets into the membrane, and causes shorts, no matter how quickly you clean it. It's also a sealed unit. If you've gotten even a tiny amount of moisture on it, that's your issue. I've tried taking the dock apart and rinsing the keyboard to no avail, but you could try that if you're going to buy another one anyway. You can get a full dock, or just a keyboard replacement by itself, and either one might be a better deal, depending. But the problem of it not working after logging in is just due to filter keys, so if you run across that issue, turn it off.
