Solved! Asus Vivobook Max Shuts down by itself

bought mine last year (November 2017) and i have tried to live with this pesky problem by making sure i'm always connected to a power source, but it's been disrupting my work whenever i unplug it.
I have close to zero tech experience, so can someone please show a step-by-step guide how to do the battery tape thing?

What battery tape thing?

If the laptop won't stay on without being plugged in, then you likely need a new battery. Depending on the manufacturer's rules, you may be able to still get it fixed under warranty.
