Solved! asus webcam not showing in device manager

webcam stopped working after restore.
i have tried all the available suggestions
but none work (ASUS X540L)

What suggestions have you tried? Are you sure it's not working with apps like Skype/FB's own messenger? You may want to manually install the drivers off your products support site.
