Asus x401u charging board

So I have a laptop Asus x401u. It worked a while back until my charger broke. When my charger broke my Dad tried to strip all the wires from the actual charger and reconnect it but when that happend I'm pretty sure he reversed the polarites and connected it in the wrong spots so when he plugged it in it didn't work. I bought a new charger and it wasnt charging. Do you think the laptop is fully dead or I need to replace the charging board?

Most likely damaged the laptop motherboard with that amateur/ill advised repair job on the old power brick.

Shoot thats not what I meant to do sorry idk there's 2 boards a charging board and the main board so you think it's possible to replace the charging board?

You can replace charging board, but on that board doesn't seem anything else than connector and usb port and its components, nothing that can burn out. You had probably burned out protection diode on motherboard if you had switched polarities.
