Asus X453MA RAM Upgrade

Good day to all members of Tom's Hardware! I'm new here, and I'm excited to ask a question and seek for an advice about upgrading my Laptop. (Please let me know if this is not the right section for this inquiry.) I'm a little disappointed with this because it's kinda slow even I am just surfing the net. Applications that I am opening usually takes some time to load. Anyway, my question is "If I upgrade my RAM from 2GB to 8GB would it boost up my system also downgrading it to WIndows 7 might fix the problem?"
I only have a budget for a memory, not yet ready to buy a new laptop. Please don't tell me to buy a new one

Asus X453MA
Processor: Intel® Bay Trail-M Dual Core Celeron N2840 Processor
Operating System: Windows 8.1 w/ Bing
RAM: 2GB DDR3L 1600 MHz SDRAM, up to 8 G
Storage: 500GB HDD 5400 RPM

No on the Windows 7, no drivers support

Ram might help a bit, but the issue is the CPU.
