asus X52F problem battery

so ive had this problem before and it sorted its self out but now its not doing it basically the battery recommended that i replace it so i was just about to buy a new one when it started working again but now its gone back to saying i need a new battery, is there anything that i can do to get the battery working again as i think it could be a software issue but i know all the drivers are up to date also when plugging the charger back in it sends the screen blank for a second or 2

have you recently installed any new software or drivers that leads you to believe it might be a software issue?
if so try rolling back or uninstalling the sofware/driver... also try a battery testing software like battery eater or something alike to get more info on the battery life etc..
