I'm sorry, I don't really mean to be a troll, but I get really annoyed when people say things like:
"I couldn't make a single call without it dropping out. I still have a month left on my contract and I just went to verizon, I just couldn't deal with them anymore... AWFUL!"
"4 years with AT&T were awful. dropped calls galore. im happy with verizon."
Do you people really think that anyone is going to believe it was that bad? Every call was dropped? Really?? REALLY!!?? EVERY CARRIER has places that aren't covered so well. We ALL know this.
I have had at&t since back when it was AT&T, then Cingular, and now at&t. I have had some, very few, dropped calls. Not enough for me to really remember or care about. However, I do not enjoy calling many of my friends who have Sprint, or several family members that have Alltel. Those calls get dropped much more often. The calls I make to other at&t customers and the ones to Verizon customers will be just fine about 99.9% of the time. In my neck of the woods that's how it seems to work. Besides, at&t is the only service available with 3G. The carriers that use CDMA are not 3G. They say they are (some even say they are the first 4G), but they're not. Simple and minor upgraded compression techniques and software updates really don't mean you now magically have a 3G (or 4G) network. I really try and want to believe that people don't believe everything they see and hear on tv.
I'm not saying that at&t is the best. I'm not saying that the other carriers are bad. I'm saying that there is a lot of egg throwing going on and in the end we all wind up with it on our faces. So the next time you decide to post a bunch of unqualified, uneducated, exaggerated opinions, make sure you state then as such and not as facts. Or better yet, keep your unhelpful and obviously fictional ranting to yourself.
