Athlon or Turion on the same computer.

Hello,
HP Laptop w AMD Athlon™ II Processor, 14" Display, 3GB Memory,320GB Hard Drive, Radeon HD 4250 graphics or HP Laptop with AMD Turion II Processor with all else the same. Both are $399. Any preference or recommendations?

Without you telling us the specific model number for either processor we can't tell you which one is better.

If they are Athlon II M360 and Turion II M520, then those are virtually the same thing, if they are not then there could be huge differences.

Sorry for not giving enough information.
AMD Athlon™ II dual-core processor P360, processor speed 2.3 GHz, cache memory is 1 MB on Die Level 2.
AMD Turion™ II dual-core mobile processor P540, processor speed 2.4 GHz, cache memory is 2MB on die Level 2.
Everyday usage with probably nothing tougher than Facebook's busy game pages.

well, Turion is about 10% better performance than Athlon. So, if it's the same price I'd get the one with Turion processor
