audible signal new email receipt on chromebook

would like to add audible signal for incoming new email on Toshiba CB35-A3120 Chromebook

It is going to depend on where you get the email through. Is it through a web browser, or through an email client like Outlook or similar program?

If it is Outlook, Thunderbird, or other email programs you download the mail to, then the individual programs do have sound settings. Some of them you can also set in your computers sound settings.

1. Go to "Control Panel" and click on "Sounds".
2. In this new window click on the "Sounds" tab.
3. Locate all sound options associated with "Email" and choose the sound you wish to be used.
4. Click "Apply" and then click "OK".

Now if you are seeking sounds for web based email, that you would have to check with both the browser settings and the web email client.

In gmail you can turn mail notifications on in the settings but unfortunately I don't believe it plays an audible sound.
