AuPair's Laptop Broken

My AuPair, from Germany, recently bought a laptop. (Acer Aspire ES1-731G-P27Y Notebook, Intel® Pentium™, 43.9 cm (17.3 in), 1000 GB). She used it for about 2 weeks about every other day. One day she turned it on and it got really slow, and then shut down. She turned it on, and pressed alt f10, and tried to restore the hard drive, several times, but it resulted in a failure every time. She doesn't know where to get help, as her laptop is in German. Any ideas? Thanks!

If the laptop is still under warranty, she should contact the manufacturer. They can help.
