Automatic repair loop

Computer stuck in automatic repair loop. Windows 8.1 have tried many different ways to fix this such as booting from the SSD and booting from the HD. Have tried booting from the windows 8.1 disc to try and repair to no avail. My next option is to buy a HD converter and hook it up to my laptop to see if there are any problems with the HD. If that doesn't work the only thing I can think to do is to wipe my HD which I do not want to do. If anyone has any other solutions or ideas to help my problem I would greatly appreciate it!

It would be nice to provide some more information on the issue you are facing.

Which is your main drive? (the HDD or the SSD) Do you have OS on both drives? Which drive did you try to repair?

If the startup repair doesn't really work, I believe attaching the drive as an external one would do the job. If the drive is not accessible right away, you can run some data recovery tools on it, so you can retrieve the data: https/www.lifewire.com/free-data-recovery-software-tools-2622893

The OS was on the HDD should I have it on my SDD? I just ordered a converter and it should be here soon so I can externally check my drive. When I booted up my computer it would get stuck in the automatic repair loop. I tried to boot up on a windows disc but whenever I clicked the repair option it would just freeze. I unplugged my HDD sata cable and ran it now it started to work. I think my problem is my HDD it may be faulty and I might have to order a new one but thank you so much you have been the most help and I will check the HDD health with your advice. Thank you so much!

Well, if your OS is on your SSD, you will experience significantly shorted boot times. You can install the most demanding games and applications over there as well.

It would really not hurt to attach the HDD with different SATA and power cables, even though it sounds like there's something wrong with it.

To all the people viewing this post I suggest checking your HDD as it may be faulty C:! As this was the problem for my automatic repair problem.

Did you test the drive? What was wrong with it?
I believe there were some bad sectors on it right?
