No. Go ahead. Try it out. Put on 2oz of clothing and go into the woods and dance around. Hell let's make you blue and stretch your face out. Now go live with uneducated animals and smell flowers and climb trees.

Go ahead.

[citation][nom]zmanz[/nom]Does ANYBODY here see any sequence of events going on in this world similar to that of Revelations? Oh wait - I'm just a bible-thumper obssessed with fantasies and fairytales according to one user that's 40 and still in mommy's basement. For you people who need counselling over a damn movie - GET OVER IT. This is why I'll never allow my children into any type of public education system.[/citation]

The book of Revelations is only 200 years old and is quite irrelevant to the bible. Revelations was all about Nero and his oppresion. BTW, the stories of the bible were nothing more than a rip off of sumerian tales from over 3000 BEFORE the Jesus.

Anyone who is a fan of Lord of the Rings knows how involving good books and movies can be. You want the world to be real. If you can imagine it, it's real to you. Reality itself can only be perceived from a personal view that's distorted by personal experience and knowledge and by a persons own views about the world, so not actual reality. If no one individual can experience true reality, since they are always missing pieces of the puzzle, no wonder people believe in Avatar. It's sometimes not much different for incorrect perception of our real world surroundings. I think it's healthy to immerse yourself in a fictional world, as long as you can still live your life and be socially active and achieve. In the end it's entertainment and has to take a back door, only if this rule is not used does a fantasy world become a problem. At an earlier age I was psychologically unstable unless I could watch some good science fiction and forget my problems. One good thing about science fiction is is promotes logical/scientific thinking instead of magic and mysticism without necessarily being anti-religious, but fantasy can often be really good as well in it's own way. Fantasy is rooted in our past, often taking references from Greek mythology and other cultures and helps us understand ourselves. Both Science and Fantasy fiction are good ways to bring up issues in today's world without overly offending people, because it's not in our reality and not taken as literally. And that's a good thing. It has the ability to plant ideas in peoples heads and allow them to change into better people once they can consciously accept these messages without getting upset and rejecting them outright.

Sheesh, I should be a psychologist or something. :)

How long do you think it will take for these people who are "suffering" to turn around and sue Fox and or Cameron? I'll give it another month...

Avatar's world is a close resemblance of how paradise was portrayed in the bible. Paradise is only a fraction of how heaven is,so for those who believe what the Bible teaches, there's a great reward awaiting for them!

Great special effects, seamless flow between cgi and actors, was surprised as to how good 3D has gotten. Movie plot was lackluster, reminiscent of Dances with Wolves but not an exact ripoff as some have mentioned. Story had heavy left-winged utopic socio-political views, but that's typical of Hollywood. I think that Lucas would have done a better job on the story though.

As far as those obsessed with the movie...let Darwin get'em! World is already over populated, f-them!

And again, poeple dare to dispute that movies/TV/Video games has no barring on poeple's mental state and thought?

How much more evidence one needs?

Oh..my....goodness. I give the world 1o more years...

Agreed!!

I did thoroughly enjoy the movie but I'm not suicidal over the fact that it's a MOVIE and not real!! XD And besides...this may sound silly but for those who believe there is a heaven, I'd bet that it looks the same, or similar...so technically it isn't intangible if you think about it that way.

Ok, liked the movie saw both the regular and 3d version. I don't disagree with people who say we should be more respectful of the enviroment. But do you think that if we had an actual ftl drive, and came across a planet. And the planet was say, earth-like, and the natives were armed

Man I hate hippies. In all honesty I was hoping the humans would pull through in the movie and destroy the puny Navi (sounds a lot like NaZi huh?). Forget those blue idiots and the director. That movie was good except for the part about the blue savages winning when they clearly would have lost. Extremely unrealistic and retarded.
