Hiya!

I recently bought an Axas E3HD Receiver and want to get it running, but it won't let itself be turned on properly or be flashed. I do get a green and red LED lighting up, but the TV screen is black and there's no fan installed. What can I do?

Thanks! :D

You are welcome.

Unfortunately, full disclosure, JTAG etc. is well of out my "comfort" zone. Will add to my list.... :)

You can always look for and perhaps purchase another identical receiver. Mix and match parts to end up with a working unit.

Mostly depends on the budget you are willing to spend. Maybe 2 or 3 times more than you have to date. Or just hold as is and keep looking for more information. Sometimes things turn up as you google or otherwise expand your search criteria, vary terminology, and the time frames.

Hopefully someone else following this thread will now be able to provide some additional comments and ideas.

Where did you purchase the Receiver?

Was the receiver new, refurbished, or simply just used at the time of your purchase?

No fan: does it appear that someone removed the fan or that a fan was never present?

Wondering what else may have been done to that receiver....

The Receiver is in a new-looking state, but there's no guarantee or anything as far as I can tell. I bought it at a flea market with the original packaging, but I'm almost certain someone has tried to flash it. It could be that the bootloader is broken? I'm pretty sure that's the reason the person was selling it to me. (He didn't mention anything specifically).

As for the fan, it seems like there wasn't one in the first place. I'd like to upload an image, but I'm not exactly sure how.

Thanks for the help!

Hopefully, the receiver is recoverable. Probably at least worth a try some rainy day....

Re-flash: Start with the following link to/via Axas:

Translations involved so be sure to read carefully.

Note: I found other websites offering downloads and instructions. However I have no way to test or trust what those sites may actually do.

Use caution overall.

Hiya, thanks for the link!

However I couldn't find my receiver there anywhere :( , and neither did the instructions help. To be more specific, it's a linux full HD receiver, and I've attached images this time round. The first one shows the two LED lights that appear when one tries to switch the receiver on.

Thanks for the help!

If you peel off some of the protective cover are you able to see any labeling for the two LED lights?

Try googling some of the internal codes/labels: The "MAC", the 402VH52, any numbers on the back or bottom.

And be sure to search for "look-alike" products. Your receiver may just be some other existing make and model - only branded differently.

For example I found the following YouTube video:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7pvF9o4uBGQ

Googled "Linux HD Receiver E3HD schematic" and focused on images.

Note the "Galaxy Innovations Genius E3HD" being shown.

Wiggle all the internal connections to ensure they are fully and firmly in place. Or check for anything wiggly and loose for that matter....

And, after-thought, may not run without detecting the presence of a fan.

Hey,
Thanks for the help, but I'm pretty sure it's not a problem from the hardware side. I've figured out it's a corrupt BIOS/boot sequence, basically not allowing me to boot or flash from a USB. I'm thinking of using a wired JTAG system connecting the receiver and my PC, but since it's such a rare problem there's no info on how to do it, much less a guide. I'd have to pay 30 euros to get it fixed professionally, which is 6 times as much as I bought it for, so that's why I'm posting here :ange: .

Again, thanks for helping.
