backup software that automaicall loads new files to portable hdd when connected to laptop

I have a laptop and an external portable hdd.

Every three months I manually copy and paste all photo files and video files created since the last backup to the respective folders on my portable backup drive.

Is there any backup software that will automatically back up new photo and video files to the portable drive created since the last backup when the portable drive is connected to my laptop????

Hey there, @provlima!

You can also use Windows' built-in Backup & Restore utility. It basically works like this and even reminds you when you need to plug the portable HDD to perform a backup again. You should be able to find this feature in Control Panel > System and Maintenance > Backup and Restore. I'd also recommend checking this MS article for more details.

Using third-party utilities is also a good backup option, however, make sure that they do both a system & file backup, if that's what you are looking for. There are tools that do one or the other as well.
