Battery Replacement for Sony Vaio

Dear Admin ,

I am trying to replace the stock battery with specs - 10.8 V , 4000 mAh , 44Wh of Sony Vaio laptop - VPCEH28FN with a new one ( which perfectly matches in dimensions with the stock battery ) having specifications - 11.1 V , 5300 mAh , 59 Wh.
Considering the higher current and Wh , Please can you suggest if the above new battery is compatible with the laptop and will it cause any harm or have any adverse impact on the internals of laptop.

If it fits and is being marketed as the replacement of choice for that precise model, I would say it's fine.

That said, caution stops me saying do it. Vaio's come with specific model references. What is the entire model number on the base of your Vaio?

Model Number at the bottom is : PCG-71811W

I'm struggling to find a reliable battery for that model from my usual suppliers. One of them gives the figure as 11.1V @ 4400. The only replacements I can find are so inexpensive I wouldn't trust them.

I know I've had one of those in for repair but it seems a long while back.

I'd say yes, basing the decision on your view of what's the right price. If it looks too good to be true, it probably isn't true. It won't harm the laptop unless it's one of the cheap Chinese products which can cause fires.

I don't buy a battery for a customer unless it costs more than £40 GBP. Some are available for half that and it's a risk I won't take.
