Bent SDHC Card. Plastic casing cracked, inside chip fine. Looking to recover photos

Hello, I was borrowing my friends sdhc card and my lap top fell and cracked my panasonic sdhc 8gb card. The inside chip looks perfectly fine but i am unable to get it to read at all on my computer. I am not worried about replacing the card. I would just really like to recover his photos from europe. Any help or suggestions is greatly appreciated.

Pics? One of the connecting wires may be snapped.

A soldering iron might be useful.
