i have a number of OFFLINE machines, running anything from 98SE to 8.1, and i am looking for an antivirus as well as anti-malware that i can use WITHOUT an internet connection. so, ideally something i can run from a portable USB stick so that i don't even have to install it, but i guess install is ok if absolutely necessary.
i guess i'd need to manually get a definition update once a month or so, which means i'd want something that can handle having updates done via USB / offline.
i'll likely use Malwarebytes for mal stuff. but for viruses, i've no idea what to use.
suggestions? um, free is preferred but i could be ok paying a few bucks for a portable run-from-USB version that can handle all of my systems.
