What is the best converter for all media for windows, I used Super erightsoft but it was a bit too detailed in one window, and it was considered trojan by Avast and comodo because it seemed to be connecting to the net to download malicious software. So i blocked it and un-installed it and now I need to find one that does it all but preferably the best one that uses low system resources and either paid or free I just want to know the top one thanks.

Solution
I don't know that there is a single best one but here are a couple of free ones worth looking at:
MPEG Streamclip: http://www.squared5.com/
Handbrake: http://handbrake.fr/

This is a commercial (not free) program: http://www.any-video-converter.com/products/for_dvd/

Thanks for the links! one of the links were broke on me though, so there is no best one only equally as good? They can convert mp4 to mp3 for instance or many other formats to mp3?

Which link is broken? What kind of files do you want to convert? mp4 to mp3 would be video to just audio. I don't think either MPEG Streamclip or Handbrake will convert mp4 to mp3.

don't worry thanks for the reply, probably my isp blocked a link you gave me, I tried some of your list, they are okay but I actually decided to choose Any dvd converter professional it can convert a lot of video to virtually anything on the market, but I usually use video to mp3 as I like cutting the video and listening to music, its what I like better than super Erightsoft which comes with hidden spyware trying to download via an update. I must warn people to stay away from that software Super Erightsoft, comodo and Avast detected it trying to download update and install malware without my consent. I can't remember if it was malware or trojan but a red colour symbol popping up thats from the super erightsoft is enough to make me un-install it forever.

Not sure but if you start your own post someone may be able to answer that question.
Update: I don't think Handbrake will but you could try ffmpegx
