Best GPS software / map combo with voice alert?

Subject says it all, really. I plan to begin making occasional excursions
to locations up to a hundred miles outside of the city I live in, and I've
got a PocketPC2002 PDA.. not too fast, not too slow. I have no GPS device
but if the maps and software have matured sufficiently, I'll probably pick
one up. I live in Tulsa.

So, for the area where I live, what's the current "best" GPS software and
map(s) combination?

"Best" is a generalization, of course. Accuracy, lack of bugs, usefulness
of voice alert feature, speed, useful & up-to-date information on
restaurants and other places to stop, if applicable. Stuff like that.

While I'm at it, what would be a reasonable GPS device to pick up? (Some
may work less well than others...)

Thanks in advance!

Check my site for a bunch of reviews and a listing of all your choices.
It should be a good starting place for your research.

I use Teletype on an Ipaq 3835. Mostly works great. Occasionally it will not
be able to find some address or have the local streets wrong. But that also
happens with printed material. (I wonder where they get there data?)

The latest software is fast and useful. It loads needed maps as you drive
through different areas. You put in an address and it will work out a route
and both visually and audibly tell you how to get there.

I will definitely continue to upgrade.
