Hello, and good evening everyone!

I run a local computer repair company and was asked an odd question for me today. "What would be the best laptop for my kid" said a customer of mine. I was kind of dumbfounded and told him I would let him know as soon as I made a decision.

Basically I need your opinion on what your favorite and most powerful laptop is that is a decent price range (ie probably not over 1,000). He wants a PC preferably running Windows; not quite advanced enough for Linux distros. So far I think the ASUS Viviobook 14 inch seems like a decent pick, but that is just me. Also, upgrading after purchasing is always welcome.

Thanks for you help in advanced!

Upgrades for laptops are generally only the RAM. Sometimes you can change the CPU, but only within a small range, and generally won't make a lot of overall difference.

So don't focus on upgradeness too much.

Personally, I'd think a 14" to be too small. And a 17" too large. 15"...

I realize that. HDD's can also be replaced with higher capacity HDD's or SSD's. I wasn't really relying that too much, but some company's mark up a laptop a few hundred for an extra 4gb of RAM.
