Hello everyone! I've been looking to buy a new pair of headphones for a while now but I'm still not sure what's best. I mostly listen to pop and classical music, and the amount of bass the headphones have doesn't matter that much, just looking for a nice accurate and clean sound signature.
(Here are some songs I listen to, if that helps)
Also is a DAC under $100 going to make a difference in sound quality when I have the Sound Blaster Z?
Thanks for the help!

Sennheiser's lineup is generally very good. I don't particularly like the Urbanite XL though. There's the HD 558 that should be within your budget. Some other ones to consider are the Fischer audio 003ti, Brainwavz HM5, and many more clones by other brands. It's a made in china headphone that many brand resell with their logo on it. Very good headphone and built well. These two headphones would likely fit the bill of accurate and clean or at least my definition of accurate and clean. I have a headphone called the Kennerton Magister, which is a 003ti with special wooden cups and leather. I can tell you that it is one of the most neutral headphones I've ever heard...

Beyerdynamic have some nice sets, like the DT770's around that price range if you want a closed set. Keep in mind they have a few different impedance sets so get the one that matches your other gear. I have the DT660's and they are really comfortable for long time usage, and the huge cups actually surround even my massive welsh family line ears which is a huge plus since many over ear sets squish and get really uncomfortable.

The DT770 is a above my budget, sorry should have specified that I live in Canada.
Have you looked at any of the Sennheiser lines?

Thanks for the recommendation! For the same price as the Urbanite XL I can get the audio technica AD900X. how would it compare to that for classical?

They Beyerdynamic Custom One Black and Whites are on sale at NCIX:

http://www.ncix.com/detail/beyerdynamic-custom-one-pro-plus-42-105229-1743.htm

http://www.ncix.com/detail/beyerdynamic-custom-one-pro-plus-42-105230-1743.htm

Just inside budget with free shipping :)

Low impedance headphones designed for consumer level gear though, so if you want it to match high impedance amp or other gear they might not make sense as much, but they will be great for most common things that play music.

I don't really know the store, but here are the 770's for 232. http://www.avshop.ca/sound-amp-pa-audio/headphones/over-ear-headphones/beyerdynamic-dt-770-pro-250-ohms-headphones

or 229 . . . https://www.headphonescanada.ca/headphones/beyerdynamic-dt-770-pro-headphones

There's also the sony mdr v6/7506 that you can consider. There are some internal differences between the two. They use a different magnet and are wired differently, but are essentially the exact same headphone. These can sound bright (treble heavy) and that can annoy some people. I find that a bit of brightness is good for classical as it gives a sense of air to string instruments. Otherwise it is very flat through the midrange but lacks a bit in the bass department.
