Better camcorder app

I know obviously I can't increase the resolution of my camera or anything, but are there any camcorder apps that record videos in a less compressed/lossy format?

For example for a while I was stuck with the crappy AMR sound recorder, until I found a better app that records to WAV files and sounds almost like a professional recorder.

Is there anything like that with the camcorder?

I would suggest going to the web site of the camcorder brand and inquireing there. You can also go to the Android app store and look.
